wistia illustration style

As a part of Wistia’s branding overhaul, I created a new style of illustrations that would push forward the visual style across all platforms. The new illustration style is full of texture and movement, giving an approachable, hand-drawn look to reflect Wistia’s personality as a company.

There was an involved exploration phase to discover an illustration style that felt on-brand. This involved creating moodboards to get an understanding of visual elements that reflected the brand, adapting existing illustrations into various styles, and generating, testing, and tweaking various textures, colors, and compositions.

After an initial assessment of the brand, I identified a few dimensions to create and evaluate styles with.

From initial explorations, one iteration was most successful. That became the new baseline, and from there, I incorporated additional feedback into a new scale that explored additional visual styles. I paired these styles with copy to get a sense of what they might look like in context.
